Happy St. Patty's Day 2007!!!

LA is land of my cruisin' friends...
I met up with Katie (my twin from my South America trip) and headed to Hermosa Beach for this year's St. Patty's festivities. We made some friends....Did you know I'm a palm reader? And spent the night drinking at "mermaid's". We were good girls though, and go up early enough for pancakes and shopping.

De Ja Vu, Not the cruise!

Out in LA with Rishi and Neel. Katy and I met these two crazy guys on our cruise to Ensanada more then 6 months ago. We picked up right where we left off. Too much fun!

Pacific Coast Highway and San Simeon

I took Highway 1, the Pacific Coast Highway, for about 2 1/2 hours down to the Hearst Castle at San Simeon. A beautiful drive, a little scary at times, but worth the motion sickness. The Hearst Castle was amazing and made me want to go back in time to the glamor days of the golden days of Hollywood. You can't even believe how austentacious someone could be! Or how much money one person could have. The maids are the only ones who ever used the gorgeous blue and gold tiled indoor pool!

Monterey, California

One of the best things about driving cross country and doing it by yourself is you get to stop and see whatever you want. I stopped in Monterey after San Ramon--I'd planned on seeing the aquarium again but caught up walking around and looking at the seals playing with the fishermen and walking on the beach. Such a pretty town, go if you're ever in the area. I got to have two meals alone, two beers, many hours of walking around, and one movie, all to myself.

John and Jewel

I was very lucky to be able to stop in San Ramon to see my uncle Kevin and meet my (almost) 3yo cousins. The twins are about the funniest thing I've seen in a while. I'm so happy to have been the first in the extended family to meet these little rug-rats.

Leaving Cedarville

I left No. Cali on a Fri. It was snowing at 35 degrees. I probably shouldn't have been driving and taking pictures, but too bad. That is actually a dog riding on top of a truckload of hay for 20 miles in the snow over the mountain. Poor puppy. It was a very pretty drive, and my last experience with no traffic--at least for the next 6 weeks...

Surprise Valley Hotsprings

Dr. Colas gave me two nights at the natural hotsprings spa in Cedarville. So amazing!!! Every room has it's own theme (see 'Dessert Zen Villa' and 'Buck-a-roo" rooms below) and it's own private hottub. Interesting use for an old saddle, don't you think? Anyone ever in Reno and wants to take a 3 hour drive to relax, head up there!!!

Klamath Falls Herald

There are not many murders or robberies happening in this region of the world, so pretty mundane stuff makes the paper. I got my own article--the lady writing it made me wear my BDUs for the shoot. I hated that. She is obsessed with aliens, so I bet she's hoping I'll be working at Area-51 and get to do autopsies on extraterrestrials or something. p.s. if you want to read the article, goodle the klamath falls herald.

MOOSE!!!
Moose, the clinic golden retriever, also got an article. I think he deserved the publicity more than I did. Moose is Dr. Colas' dog, and is lucky enough to come to clinic 2-3 days/week and gets plenty of rabbit chasing time over the lunch hour (the rabbits are as big as he is!).

Cedarville, CA--Population 800

I spent 4 weeks in rural Northern California doing Family Practice. You actually would never know that you were even in California. I lived in this little cabin, not bad, I had a washer and dryer so what more could girl want. These are some views I took while there. It was beautiful.
