Congrats to Kelly! I wish I had a better picture to use, but Kelly (center) and her long-time b/f Jason are going to be married next June. Can't wait to see the ring! Congratulations! Posted by Picasa

Katy and I made this weeks edition of "Juice", DSM's weekly paper for young people. Don't we look hot gnawing on that chicken wing?! You can go to dmJuice.com if you want to check out the rest of the issue. Posted by Picasa

I am NOT engaged!!!
I just thought I'd update everyone and tell them that I am the only person I know who is not married, engaged, going to get engaged, or having a baby. For proof, here is a picture. Please note lack of diamond on left ring finger.

Katy and Me (there is a Bloody Mary in my right hand). Go all of us for staying up all night the night before and still looking pretty good, if I do say so myself (I'll forgive Katy the Hawkeye t-shirt she has on underneath her jacket) Posted by Picasa

Long time no write!

Hello everyone! It's been forever since I've updated my blog, I guess I was waiting for something exiciting to happen and have some good photos to post. This summer has been both eventful and not all at the same time. Since my last posting back in June, I've done several rotations and had a little vacation and started my 4th year of med school. I spent half of June and July at Scott AFB doing surgery to try and figure out what I want to do with my life. I did realize that surgery is definitely not for me, and spent one miserable month alone and bored living in a hotel room. I was fortunate to be able to come home for the 4th of July to see friends and family and drink some beers and catch a few fish. My next rotation was internal medicine at Mercy in DSM, and all I can say about that rotation is that I was working 12 hour days and having no life. I took 3 weeks off to study for my step 2 of boards and take a vacation out to California to see my dear old friend Katy. She and I took a 3 day cruise to Ensanada, and then I extended my vacation to the end of the week to hang out with her and her fiance Mike and their friends. I am so glad I did, it was nice to relax and remember what it feels like to be human. When I made it home, I sent in my Air Force application for a Family Practice residency. I should find out what my future holds in mid-December. Now I am doing a Family Practice rotation at Offutt AFB in Omaha before I leave for Boise, Idaho for 2 months. This is definitely going to be a year of traveling.

Congratulations to Amy and Scott on the birth of their first daughter, Payton, on July 14. She is beautiful. And another congrats to Emily and Raj who recently became engaged in Yellowstone National Park.

I hope all is well for everyone, everywhere.
